Exclusive Solar Design for BP Frontier Park
Euro Garages owned Frontier Park is embracing the transition to renewable and sustainable energy with a combined 150 kW Solar system. The installed solar PV system is expected to generate over 2,800 MWh of electricity, saving over £840,000 and 2,200 Tons of CO2 over the life span of 25 years.
Located in Blackburn, UK, the site is open 24/7 and accommodates KFC, Starbucks, BP, Greggs, Spar, Subway, Smart Wash as well as a Charging Station. The site consists of three main building structures, multiple drive-throughs and 2 canopies.
A modular solar system is employed for three particular buildings, maximizing the roof space. 100 kW, 30 kW, and 20 kW systems power the fuel station, KFC, and Starbucks respectively.
The installed system consists of 450 solar panels, 4 inverters and over 4,000 meters of DC cables. With the installation completing in less than 3 days, the combined solar system has the potential to generate 120,000 kWh of energy per year, offsetting the site’s energy demand by ??%.
Solar electricity is the right thing to do—for the environment, the community, and our business. U Energy Solar are excellent partners to Euro Garages, in helping to further reduce our carbon footprint. The U Energy team has been instrumental in identifying opportunities across the country where it makes environmental and economic sense to develop solar, and have worked closely with Euro Garages to develop a comprehensive energy strategy to achieve our sustainability goals.
